Construção Coletiva de um Curso Sobre Prevenção da Transmissão Vertical da Sífilis, Hepatites Virais e HIV

Abstract

The course on Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of Syphilis, Viral Hepatitis and HIV is structured and offered through a partnership between the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO Brazil), the Ministry of Health, and the Open University of the Brazilian Unified Health System (UNA-SUS), which have joined efforts to collaborate with the elimination of vertical transmission of these pathologies in Brazil. Its curriculum matrix was designed to disseminate matrix models, in which different levels of health care professionals participate at different points along the line of care. To describe the construction, delivery and evaluation by participants of a self-instructional course on Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of Syphilis, Viral Hepatitis and HIV. This is an experience report based on the experiences produced within the construction, production and evaluation process of a distance learning course. Preliminary data were collected with a quantitative and qualitative approach regarding the perception of the participants regarding the modality and the program model. The partnership established for the construction of the pedagogical project of the course and the content base, which involved coordination of the partner agencies, a team of medical and nursing professionals and an educational team, was extremely fruitful, resulting in a rich material in its content and in the diversity of pedagogical resources, which already shows positive evaluations in its initial results. The course began to be offered in April 2022, and enrollment will remain open for 12 months for this first group. It is estimated that 10,000 professionals from all over Brazil will have access to the course. This experience is expected to help analyze the expansion of knowledge in the theme addressed, as well as the perception of professionals in relation to the applicability of the knowledge acquired in day-to-day health care.
