Abstract

Digital information and communication technologies support permanent health education by subsidizing the teaching and learning process. Teaching and research institutions in the country support professional qualification in partnership with the Open University of the Unified Health System. Objectives: to investigate improvement needs and create solutions through the effective adoption of technologies in the academic perspective of Specialization courses in Family Health. Methodological Pathway: this is an exploratory and descriptive study with a quantitative and qualitative approach, in which a focus group technique was applied with nine students, eleven tutors and 12 coordinators of the aforementioned course. From the thematic nuclei from the focus groups, it was possible to analyze 13 categories and 23 subcategories related to the pedagogical and technological aspects of the course. Data were analyzed by content analysis technique and statistical tests. Results: facilities, difficulties and needs for adjustments were identified. The solutions mentioned by the participants were partially contemplated and motivated the development and improvement of new resources and strategies. Other contributions are being analyzed, such as innovations in educational technologies that simulate the students' workplace reality. Final Considerations: it is understood that the contribution of digital technologies in continuing health education is a pressing action of universities in search of quality, coherent and responsible professional qualification for effective performance in the contemporary scenario of Primary Health Care.
