A influência do capital intelectual no potencial de inovação das universidades

Resumo

Na atualidade, governos e empresas encontram nos ativos intangíveis recursos do conhecimento para criação de valor. Nesse contexto, as universidades – tradicionais formadoras de capital humano e geradoras de novos conhecimentos – modificam sua missão e participam ativamente das discussões sobre o desenvolvimento de suas regiões. Elas possuem um capital intelectual considerável quando comparadas às empresas, têm um capital humano fortemente capacitado, estruturas adequadas para incrementar e explorar o capital humano, e um capital relacional com os principais interlocutores da sociedade. Sua participação nos sistemas regionais de inovação e o estabelecimento de regiões de inovação no seu entorno é um fato constatado na literatura internacional. São coadjuvantes no processo de inovação e procuram atender às crescentes demandas de novos conhecimentos. Este artigo aborda o capital intelectual disponível nas universidades e a influência deste no potencial de criação de conhecimento para a implementação da inovação.  O estudo foi realizado na Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, localizada no sul do Brasil. Com base em um modelo, foi aplicado um questionário aos professores pesquisadores da Universidade. Os resultados mostraram similaridades com relatos da literatura que aborda o ambiente das empresas.  Usando análise multivariada foi possível concluir sobre a pergunta de pesquisa e chegar a um mapa do potencial de criação do conhecimento.
